RCBS reloading question

Hi folks
Wondering if anyone here can help.
I foolishly sold my reloading equipment a while back when I stopped shooting competitively.
Now I am about to re-purchase & have a question.
RCBS pro 2000 manual versus auto indexing.

I use to have a 4x4 (auto index I think?) & it worked great. Each pull provided a finished round once the stations were all full
Dang if I can figure out looking at RCBS site & Midway the difference between these two.
2000 pro & 2000 pro auto index

When they say auto index versus manual can someone explain?
Looking at the two dont they both advance one station with each pull of the handle?

Someone please refresh this old brain
What exactly is the auto index feature?

Thanks for any help.

Without looking, manually indexed must mean you have to turn the die plate with your hand prior to each operation, decap, resize, prime, charge...etc. then pull the handle to complete the step.

Auto indexer should turn the die plate and complete the step with each pull of the handle.

Thanks SC
That is what I would have thought too but it is not that.
There is a difference between auto index & not.
Both would be considered progressive where a pull of the handle does advance things.

Here is the description from the non auto index model.....

Each pull of the handle produces a loaded round. The Pro 2000 Progressive Press offers simple 5-station manual indexing and works equally well for small handgun cartridges and large rifle cases.

For the life of me I cannot remember what auto index was :)
It will come to me I hope if not I will call RCBS on Monday before I order
Was indexing just auto powder??? hmmmm

Thanks again

Re: RCBS reloading question

SilverCity is correct.

RCBS has two Pro 2000 progressive packages.

From their site:

Pro 2000 Progressive Press
The Pro 2000 is an easy-to-use progressive press. It offers simple to use five-station manual indexing. It's like having an ammo factory right on your bench; each pull of the handle produces a perfectly loaded round. All you have to do is insert the bullet and case and rotate the shell plate by hand

PRO 2000 AUTOMATIC INDEXING PROGRESSIVE PRESS
The Pro 2000 Auto Index Progressive Press has been updated to with AUTOMATIC INDEXING.

If you already had the Pro 2000 Progressive Press (manual index) you could upgrade it to Automatic indexing for $100.00 with the...
PRO 2000 AUTO INDEX CONV KIT
The Upgrade Kit will transform your PRO2000 progressive press from Manual indexing to Automatic indexing.

Re: RCBS reloading question

Hey thanks Crockett I am surprised I did not see that on their site.
I did see the upgrade for 100
The price diff at Midway is only 50 so maybe I will just grab it already.
Thanks again for the help
